Here to Serve…

Service is more than just a motto for us at Trinity- it’s our mission, in fact, it is what we have been created for. Ephesians 2:10 tells us just that, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” And that’s what we strive to do as a family of faith at Trinity. Having been saved by Christ Jesus through His death and resurrection, we respond in faith by doing what we were created to do in love- serve His creation. Below are just a few of the ways that our congregation strives to do that.

Summer PACK Event

In July 2020, Trinity members worked together to carry out a PACK (Planned Acts of Christian Kindness) Project. A small team of volunteers organized and executed various projects designed to proclaim Christ to the community through their personal witness and acts of love. Several volunteers distributed gift cards at community locations. Others prepared and delivered homeless comfort bags to those in need. Additionally, a monetary donation was given to support suicide prevention efforts in our community. The PACK planning team had intended to carry out several additional projects which had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The current climate because of the pandemic changed many of our plans, but we thank the Lord for the opportunity to serve and point others to the free gift of God’s love in Christ. We look forward to opportunities to do projects like this in the future.

Sunday of Service

In April 2019, Trinity held their first ever Sunday of Service event. Following a special morning service at church, Trinity people jumped into action to serve our community. Some teams went out to help with lawn work for people in our area. Others formed assembly lines to pack items for those in need. Others went to out to bless people in town with surprise gift cards at local grocery stores and gas stations. And still others stayed at church and prayed for those who served and those who would receive these blessings. What a wonderful day it was, doing what we were created to do. If you would like participate in an event like this in the future, please let Carla Reed know.

Servant Events

Each summer Trinity sends a team of youth and adults to a regional location to serve the people they meet in Christ’s love. Trinity teams have worked in areas damaged by floods, hurricanes, and other disasters. They have served in locations such as West Virginia, North Carolina, New Jersey and more. If you would like to serve on a future team or if you are lead to support this ministry, let Erin Webb or Steve Smith know.
